ABOUT...

Elsa Maria Valinas is an industrial designer graduated with honours from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México in Mexico City; this challenging but also rewarding experience gave her the opportunity to study in Valencia Spain and Melbourne Australia.

She has worked for several companies in Mexico City and Australia as an industrial designer and freelance interior designer for clients as Walmart, Coty, New Balance, Terza, Navteq, LG Electronics among other small businesses.

Elsa has a passionate interest in the whole creative process of Design, working with different materials especially with Pottery and Ceramics. With the idea to pursue her love for this beautiful and noble material, she moved to New Brunswick, Canada to improve her skills and knowledge, also to gain the chance to renew her creative process focus on designing and producing ceramic objects.

She has a certification in screen printing and professional photography and her influences come from social and cultural factors from the Mexican chaotic and colourful history.  Elsa considers herself a maker and a problem solver always in the search for new challenges and working to achieve beyond simpleness by designing beautiful means for a mutual better living.  For her, Design means aesthetics with a message. She considers Design as a process not a result.  At the end Design is… Finding a better way!
